strange ad's

hello all,

i have a quick question.
on random times i get a blank ad page that just pops up at the strangest times. its kinda annoying.
it's one of those ads that has a skip this ad button on the right
i got mcafee (unregisterd)
scanned it with spybot and with hitman pro
but no program seems to find the problem

i have also noticed that my internet explorer uses a whole lot of cpu.
this problem started only a few days ago.

anyone got a quick solution?

Download and run Malwarebytes. I'd also recommend removing McAfee (horrible software) and spybot, and use AVG free edition.

Also, use a better browser like Firefox or Chrome.

now running malwarebytes (stupid of me to forget to run that one)
but i don't like AVG
is microsoft security essentials any good?

Please post a hijackthis log after running malwarebytes. Post the malwarebyte log as well.

Hello, please download and post a log with HiJackThis.

  • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
  • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
  • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
  • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
  • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
  • Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

found the problem
it's called loudmo contextual ad ....
found it but deleted manualy instead of using windows uninstall and i think i did not delete it completly.
i hope i got it now after cleaning all add ons on IE en firefox
cleaned everything with CCleaner.

anyone got some more tips/ freeware that could remove this?

grtz

You could have followed my advice and posted a hijackthis log so we can see whats on your system.

ok, let us know if you have anymore issues. However, to go back to the privacy issues thing. If you ever become infected you will need to post logs from your pc. Unless you plan on formatting everytime.
