Strange computer beeping...help

My computer upon start up started making this continuos beeping sound and doesn't stop..it goes to the compaq screen and no farther.
 
Reseat all pci cards, cable connections and memory, make sure everything is tight and let us know how it worked.
 
That sort of beeping is usually a motherboard alarm telling you it is too hot, the power supply voltages are not what they should be, or the fan is not running at normal speeds. or have you added any ram recently or done anything inside case where you might have bumped the ram sticks....also dirt and crap inside could affect it!
 
Nope nothing...all it does is beeps and on boot up only goes to the compaq screen..I have 4 different RAM's i've tried to use and nothing..still beeps like crazy...
 
Maybe somethings not compatible?

If you built your computer, your user manual should have a diagnostic on the beeps. (My Gigabyte mobo has some award-winning beep code lawl)
 
No its a stock compaq presario...I have no clue what is wrong do you think that the slot the memory sits in that there's something wrong with it?
 
What could be wrong with the power supply? Also I forgot to mention the computer crashed awhile ago and im just now getting around to fix it...what happened then was that it just stopped out of no where and wouldn't turn on. I then thought it was the CPU so I baught a pentium 4 2.66 ghz proccessor, put it in and the computer turned on and made this noise and just went to the compaq screen as I mentioned before

Sounds to me like your mobo doesnt like the new cpu you have, if it wouldnt turn on before you changed in then the cpu seems like the faulty part but not knowing what mobo you have in there it is hard to say what will or wont work.
 
no it just all of a sudden stop before it didnt stop because of the new processor. My MOBO is a asus P4G533-LA, and I have a intel pentium 4 processor installed it had a celeron CPU installed when it stopped working
 
Ok, I put a different ram in and it stopped the noise but now it wont even go to the compaq screen. It says no signal input...this thing is really bugging me. Well I took the ram out and put it back in just too see what it would do and now its beeping away again..I think the mobo is shot how bout you guys?
