Strange Ethernet/wifi problem

Hi,

Im having a strange problem!

I have installed an ethernet box in our big venue and it works when the ethernet cable is p[lugged directly into a computer or laptop! I bought a new wifi router and plugged it in to it and it won't connect to the internet via ethernet ports on the router or wifi!

I have tried the router on 2 different networks within the venue and it worked fine there but doesnt seem to want to work with this router with this new plug!

Does anyone have any ideas?

The router should have came with a setup cd, use that and follow the instructions. Are you sure that cable that you are hooking up to it is good? Does that line have a dsl/cable modem attached to it?

Well i already tried the install CD on a few different computers it worked on the other ethernet ports fine but not this one :(

I have tried different leads ones that came with the router ones ive been using on other computers and it still doesnt work... If its any help the router is a D-link DIR 855

As for the DSL/cable modem It all goes back to a server room of which the lines come in there
