strange flickering dots on display/causing reboots??

During graphic intensive programs (games or even watching movies) I am noticing strange flickering dots randomly spread across my screen. The movies are showing tiling and are also flickering. Last night their numbers increased over time which was followed by a random reboot of my computer (which NEVER happens). Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Is my video card on the outs or what?

Yeah, I would say your video card is giving up the ghost, but It could also be having problems with the video drivers for your card. Try downloading the latest drivers for your card.
