out of nowhere my floppy drive just started trying to access something all the time, it seems to especially do it everytime i open a program or something...any thoughts as to why? the only other time ive had it do this is once i was browsing a forum and a person had linked to an image that was on there A: drive, but obviously that didnt work, so it went for mine...kinda funny though..but anyway it just started doin this out of nowhere...maybe its a virus or something?

This is a fairly common problem I've come across. Unfortunetly I've still not traced the problem down to the exact cause, but it's usally something like an antivirus or perhaps office...

Lol

I have had this problem several times now and never managed to solve it. It's not that it only tries to access the FDD every 30 seconds or so but also slows down the PC. I never found out what caused it but I had to reformat in order to solve it. It did not coincide with any antivirus installation.

JAN :D

i restarted my computer and it seems to have gone away now, it started doing it when i was scanning some pictures shortly after installing the scanning software...so i have no clue what caused it, i opened up my case and pulled the floppy cable, because i was tired of listening to it, then later i powered down, plugged the cable back in, started it up and it works fine now..go figure
