Strange overheating + CPU issue

:(Hello guys, i really need some help at here. I bought a M1210 DELL XPS laptop about 2 years ago, and now something is going wrong with it. about a couple months ago, my laptop will suddenly faced serious lagging problem which i couldn't find anything wrong with it.

After i restart my computer, the laptop will go back on track again and i thought everything is fine again. Lately, the problem started again and restarting juz couldnt solve the problem anymore. I went to repair the laptop and the guy changed my cooling fan, and now the fan is working great. The problem didnt occur again since it was winter and the laptop temperature is prefect. However, when i come back to my own country, Malaysia, a tropical country, the problem occur again. The problem i am facing is that when the laptop temp rise up to 53c+, the CPU will start operating something behind itself ( i didnt open any programs or games), i checked the Windows Task Manager, it shows CPU usage 50%~70%, so it cause a little lag.

If i opened a game and the temperature rise to 58c +, the CPU usage goes up to 95%~100%, and my computer will be lag as hell and i couldn't even restart it or shut it down. Is it a CPU problem? Motherboard? or GPU? or Virus? I am so desperade now and i wish whoever faced this problem could share me some solutions to this. :confused:
 
P.S.: Closing the game couldn't solve the problem too, the CPU usage remained at 95%~100% forever unless i restart it. But after the restart, the CPU is still working on something since the temperature is still above 53c and i just couldnt find what is the source of this problem. The Memory usage is very low and everything else is perfect, i can only trace this problem with the CPU usage but nothing can be done to solve it.
 
I suppose it could be a virus, but it's most likely the fact that you have Vista.

I'm not sure why, but every few months, I have to reinstall my pc's just because they get slow and start becoming bogged down. One thing you could try first though, is to get CCleaner and see if it clears up Windows a bit.

Also, you can use it to show a list of startup processes (when open go to tools and startup). Take a screenshot, and upload it to http://imageshack.us or something and we can take a look and tell you which to delete. That should cut out a lot of unnecessary stuff starting at boot and running in the background.

Also, what anti-virus do you have? Please do not say it is Norton or McAfee.
 
Thx for your quick reply but i formatted my computer nearly everyday since i thought it is a virus too. i'm using Windows XP, but still, the problem is there.
 
I am using Kaspersky internet Security 7.0.0.125, i runned a thorough virus scan either but still couldnt find any viruses. I don't know what else i could do
 
Hmm, never used Kaspersky. But, I know that things like Norton and McAfee can cause huge drags on system performance. Maybe uninstall what you have (even temporarily, or even just disable it) and try AVG instead?

See if it makes any difference to the processor usage. I've noticed it's a lot more streamlined than most programs.
 
The problem didnt occur when i was in China because it was winter, i think it is more likely to be an overheating problem rather than anti-virus software but I will try your suggestion too, thx.
 
I don't think heat would make your processor usage shoot up. There might be a problem with some of the fans somewhere though.

How hot is the laptop to the touch?

I loled. He didn't even say he had Vista yet you assume it's the source of his problems :P

I'd say either a virus or spyware, but since you said you format your computer a lot, I'd have to say it's hardware related. It's not overheating, that doesn't happen until 90+ Degrees C. Is your chipset driver installed properly? I've encountered weird CPU usages because of that. One way to check is to go to task manager and see if your CPU usage and your system idle process add up to way over 100%.
