Strange problem

So I just built a new computer. All new components.
Core Duo 2.13
Intel M Board -Dg965ry
Corsair ram
WD 80gb Hard drive
....

I started it up and formated my Hard drive was installing windows when the screen went white. I turned it off and back on and started reformating then it just turned off. Now i have no video, the power button does nothing (connected or disconnected) and when i turn on the PS it starts up all the fans and everying but dosent seam to start up the computer. The only way to turn off the computer is to turn off the PS.

Please Help.

EDIT: I tested the power switch, it makes contact when the button is depressed but only then. Is this correct?

It sounds like you could have a bad board or something simply gave out on the first run. You may want to recheck all of the internal power conections just the same as well as reseating memory, video card, etc.. The momentary contact is the way it should be on the press and hold type button. That shows that the power button there isn't the problem. It does sound more like the board itself is causing this.
