Strange sound from laptop

When I access some files, my laptop stops working and release "tak, tak..." sound. After a while, it restarts. Many times like this. Anyone know what is the problem. Now I cannot enter my files! :eek:
 
Is this sound coming from your speakers? If it's not, it maybe coming from u're hdd. If it's so... u're hdd is busted and u may have to buy another hdd.
 
I think you're right. The problem comes from hard drive. But I have heard that we can isolate bad sectors on hard drive, can't we? The remnant of drive still work well.
 
yes, you can isolate BAD sectors as easy as running a scandisk. But i don't think that u're hdd has BAD sectors. One of your hdd's electronical component is busted.(might be the Xbios) this is a "chip" that controles the read/write heads. The sound that you hear comes from the r/w heads smashing from left to right inside the hdd. As far as i know there is no way in fixing this hdd. Enjoy
