strange yahoo logo, after intrusion

Hey guys,
I dont know much about computers,but a few days ago something happend to my laptop.I was serching the web,and i oppened a website, and some weird display about internet explorer or microsoft updates appeared on the screen.

that happened to me before and I knew it wasn't good ,so I shut down the computer.But when I started back up on my home page yahoo,there's this logo right besides the adress.It looks like a caligrafic,or hand writen blue L . ,instead of the regular yahoo logo Y.

I run two system restores and it didn't fix the problem,I also run the windows defender,and it didn't detect anything.
what do you guys think,its my computer hijaket,and is it safe to still use internet explorer?

Oh i did't mention I don't have the same problem on firefox(the weird yahoo L logo).Its just on internet explorer.Thats the one I've been using when the incident occured.
I would so much appreciate any advise,on how to fix the problem

could you post a hijack this log. From that we can figure out what is causing the issues and give you directions on how to remove the problem.
 
Hmm, I don't really see anything bad in that log. Now is the icon wrong only on yahoo's page or is it wrong on every page? Either way it's probably not too much to worry about.
 
Keep a close eye out of suspicious behavior though, you might download something like spybot search and destroy and give your system a once over just to be sure.
 
Probably just a slight corruption within IEs history store. Try clearing both the history and cache. Within Internet Explorer, click on Tools -> Delete Browsing History. Click on Delete Files then Delete History then Close. Close Internet Explorer and re-open it. Navigate back to Yahoo and see if the correct icon appears.
