Need a new program to stream audio for when I'm on stickam. I'd used Virtual Audio Cable for years but it doesn't work with Windows 7 since the drivers aren't Microsoft certified. Needs to be freeware.

Suggestions?
or is there a way to disable the need for the driver to be signed?

and you can stream audio and video and internet radio as well.
u got the portable version (to run from usb stick) and the installer.
 
Not quite what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something to broadcast my music out, not something to listen to. I need a selectable output.

Basically what I could do with VAC was select it as my output in winamp then in stickam select VAC as my microphone, then whatever I would play on winamp would be heard by whoever had my mic turned on.

Need a program that works with Windows 7 that will do that same thing.
 
So looks like you are looking something like an Audio Server?
What about VLC Media player ? i think that he can run as an Multimedia Server as well...

Taken from another site, haven't W7 yet so don't know if it works.

An easy way to load the unsigned driver is by pressing F8 during the boot sequence (just after POST, but before the Windows loading logo), which opens up the Advanced Boot Options list, and choosing the Disable Driver Signature Enforcement.

Well I still need a program. Disabling it every time on bootup is a pain in the ass, plus if it's running and I turn my webcam on it causes me to blue screen. Fairly certain it's the program doing it because everything else is microsoft signed, which sucks because it all worked together on XP.
 
I think the first thing that u should do is try to find another driver for you webcam that works for example in VISTA (should work)

Force win7 not to mess with your drivers that arent signed with this:
Start
Run
gpedit.msc
Hit enter
In the new window that opened expand:
Administrative Templates
System
Driver Installation
double click on ‘Code Signing for Device Drivers’
Choose ‘Enabled’
choose ‘Ignore’
This disables drivers signing in Windows 7, and now you can install unsigned drivers in Windows 7.
Click Apply, OK. Restart your computer to install unsigned drivers.

That didn't work in Vista and it doesn't work for 7 either.

As for it crashing, it's the combo of the 2 programs. I can run one or the either, but if both run at the same time it crashes instantly.
 
Yes, i didnt knew that one..microsft lunchs a few options in OS that are not compatible with the OS... LOL looks like the one...no keyboard detected please press F1...LOL
Well i found something else that could help you:

Go to Start menu and type cmd.exe in the Search Bar and press Enter. (Remember you must be logged on as Administrator)
Now type the following:
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
hit enter
bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON
hit enter
Restart your computer

If this is inaccessible then change it via Registry:

1. Go to Start -> Run -> regedit.exe
2. Look for: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Wind ows NT\Driver Signing]
3. Change the BehaviorOnFailedVerify key value to "0" for ignore, "1" for getting just warning mesage and "2" to block completely.
See if works

Neither of those works either and I don't have any interests in disabling it anymore since VAC clashes with my webcam drivers anyway. Trust me, everything that you find through google on disabling doesn't work, I tried all of them. The F8 option is the only one that does.

You are right about not helping disabling it because as u said is still BSOD with
your webcam.
What u can do is call support from the brand of your webcam and ask them
where u can download stable drivers for Win7.

The webcam is fine, it's the unsigned drivers for VAC that cause it to crash when running both. If I run the cam first then load VAC it BSODs as well.

I had the chace to read a litle bit about he VAC (Virtual Audio Cable) in is home page and the last version is 4.09, about this software have you tried to run all the EXEs in compatible mode?
Or just leave an email to the author asking if there is something you can do
to put VAC running in an stable manner in Win7.
I can almost bet with you that tonns of other people allready asked that to him, and by now probably he allready have an way how to do it.
Andfor your Webcam as allready said, find another driver for you webcam that works for example in VISTA (should work)and if it stills doing BSODs try to put it running in compatible mode.
