Strobe..

Something odd about my computer is that when i move a window in the screen its all slow and strobes. i recently formatted my computer and succesfully installed all or what i think was all. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?thanks

new install.. did u update/install ur video card drivers... the color and resolution in ur display properties..check if there are right or too high(resolution)

i dont know about the video driver? i installed the Video Controller which i had trouble with. But if thats what your talking about then yes. other than that if not how can i check? i have a compaq presario S5000CL.

try changing ur res or refresh rate

properties
settings tab
advanced button
adapter tab

it should show u ur adapter

ya, you dont have the drivers. a sure sign of a lack in drivers is SLOW 2D control, like as you said moving windows and scrolling. do this, should fix it...

1 right click my computer
2 properties
3 hardware tab, then click device manager
4 you should see a yellow sign next to your display driver
5 right click it and hit update driver

let it search on the internet. or you can search on the compaq website for the drivers for your machine. better yet, lemme get you a link. (next time build a computer, but anyway here we go)
