Stuck pixel?

Is it possible for a stuck pixel to be caused by a loose dvi cable?

One of my monitors had a stuck blue pixel, which was only noticeable if the screen was black, but since mounting all 3 of my monitors to my new ergotron stand, the pixel is 'unstuck' and is no longer permanently blue.....

What could have caused the pixel to go away?

Could it have been caused by a bad or loose cable? Or maybe just got fixed due to being moved around and shaken a bit while was mounting the monitor to the stand?

Anyone else notice a pixel that just 'fixed' itself?

I spent HOURS running jscreenfix, as well as 'massaging' the screen with a cloth to try and get it to become unstuck, and after all that, it just goes ahead and fixes itself?

Most peculiar.

Actually, now that i think of it, it could also have to do with the factory stand holding the monitor directly up and down vertically, while the new stand has tilt adjustments, and i have the monitor tilted forward a bit....

Maybe this tilt caused the 'juice' inside the monitor to redistribute correctly....

Just curious if anyone else has had this happen to them?

It could have been you were playing a film on it or tv or some type of media differant colors kept flashing at the screen causing it to become unstuck as this is what many stuckpixel fixer do.

just seems strange that i tried that for HOURS (i left jscreenfix on all day while at work a few days) all to no avail, and now (i actually JUST noticed it was gone) it seems to have just vanished at it's own will

That's not uncommon for stuck pixels to appear and correct themselves. I have a few on my laptop that have since disappeared...and a few that haven't :P

If they dont dissapear you can try applying a little pressure to that area with a cloth, and move up and down over the pixel, it usually causes it to become "unstuck"
