m soo pissed off at my ISP
i got a upgrade cd from our isp and it was dodgy and it fully stuffed the router it cant b used

so now they have given us free dial up till the new one comes in the mail

but still dial up 4 3 days ggrrr

Why aren't you happy with dialup:confused: , you get a full 56kbps!!!!!!! much better than my 14.4kbps line. The quickest I can get here is 112k broadband:(
But! I have 10meg:D

Try being in Australia! we have one of the lowest MB per person of connection speed in the world! fastest we can get where i am is 1.5mb (regional) and 24mb in the city (but even in the city its very limited on where u can get it) and the prices are outrageous! my current connection is AU$80 p/m with static ip, 256/1500 and 50GB a month download.. thats one of the best deals around too! i recon the 24mb connections would only cover 1-2% of australia and the rest of us are stuck on this 1.5mb crap! argh.. Hmm ill step off my soap box now lol..

Huh? I don't get what's so bad about your connection. By 1.5mb and 24mb do you mean 1.5mbps and 24mbps? If so, isn't that quite fast? Hey, compared to mine, I only have a 384kbps connection and it's considered very fast where I come from (lots of people are still on dial-up). I don't even think it's possible to get a 1+mbps connection for residential use yet. It takes a while but I still get to download lots of gigs :D

So I don't think you should complain so much about Australia having low connection speeds ;)

Wow, most people over here in the UK already have Broadband and Digital nationwide!
The total swtchover 2007/2008

I was on the phone w/ a tech from my ISP and he recommended he upgrade the firmware for my dsl modem/router. Completely fried it. Had to wait about 2-3 days on dial up, until they replaced it....with a newer model router. he he he.

Know how you feel.

Dial up isnt that bad. I sometimes have to use it with my laptop when i travel. I use juno and it feels a tad bit slower then dsl when surfing web pages.
