Stupid LGA 775 limitations

At first I was like dang he's spot on. That's my fsb and ram speed. Then you said you had the same board haha. Alright. But what does the timer do?

Edit: when you say closest to 800 do you mean 800 or 400?

I've had tons of boards, it's just a freakish coincidence that at this moment I have the exact same one LOL. I was actually looking for a P5Q-E when the deluxe came up for a good price so I snagged it.

800 because in the bios it shows the DDR. Not all boards are like that.

As for the timings, well I'm not gonna explain that all out so I'll give you a link-

But on Auto it sets the timings higher than they need to be.

Very nice. This board was the best first for this processor (which I bought first) cause it had plenty of slots and decent specs. Got a good deal on it too.

I fixed the dram speed and dang it just keeps going. I'm not sure when I should stop I'm at 3.9 right now. real temp says idle is at 33-36.

When I put the timer on manual it was already set to 5-5-5-15 so I guess I'm good to go

Edit:Well, 4.18 is my limit without taking the voltage past 1.5. anymore and the temp would be crazy. Thanks alot for the help. Haha. Now I'm ready to max out my quad core when I get it. Woo/

Wow, 87dtna found a great deal on a Core 2 Duo Q9300 Quad-Core Processor. $125 for a Core 2 Quad Q9300 (2.5 gigahertz) Yorkfield is a sweet deal even if it only has a 30-day warranty.

core 2 duo quad core......Did you say that right? Haha. My goal is the 9550 if I can find it for less than 250 else the 9300.

Holy freakin crap. Gah! i don't have that kind of money right now. Why couldnt you find this a month from now!?!?!

That sucks dude, thats a killer deal.

I would still honestly go with the Q9300 for $125, thats gonna be the best bang for the buck.
