Stupid SATA Cables

Does anyone else have this problem?

The Damn SATA Cables get knocked out at the lightest touch, they are just so craply made!

The connector brakes and i have to SELETAPE the damn thing to me HDD, is anoyone else like this, or am i just unlucky.

My SATA connectors are fine, the clip in and thats it, I could pull on it and they wouldn't come put :P

I have to push a clip down on them to be able to take them out.

Even with the old cables that didn't have the locking clip I never had them come off unless I specifically tried to pull them off.

Never had a problem with them. Why would one be messing around inside a computer while it's on anyways? not a good idea.

Yeah, I have noticed this when building PC's if you use the SATA cable bundled with the motherboard. I have however bought the once with clips on them for my build. Cant see there being a problem with the cheepy once, unless you are fideling whilst the PC is on!

As said above, no issues here.

The one thing I will say is the damn WD hdd that I bought was a pain to get the sata cable attached to it. They are the ones without the sata power connector, and the sata cable has the wide connector that attaches and the little plastic prong i guess you would say that slides in on the side. Kinda hard to describe. If your familiar with WD sata drives you know what im talking about. That damn thing was so damn tight to get on. Damn was it tight. I actually had to trim that extra tab/prong down with a knife so it would slide in. It was that or using some lube to get it in there.

Ya, just make sure you put the cable on snuggly to begin with, and dont play around with it once its on (less your going through and doing wire management...which i have to do soon =)...).

And the ones that come with many mobo's are pretty crappy, so watch out for that, as im sure you've seen by now.

some are loose some are not. i usually throw away the loose ones. the psu that i bought came with alot of black sata cables that has silver clips that you have to hold them to take it off the drives.
