Stupid viruses

Theres a virus going around on AIM at my school. One kid was an idiot and ran a file that was sent in an IM (said "Is this a picture of you?) So now the virus sends it out ot everyone on his buddy list every ten minutes. Luckily the kid was a jackass so i blocked him anyway, but now my other friends got it. I clicked it but I didnt run it. Its a PIF. What does this virus do if anyone has heard of it. Its by sargentine 15 on comcast.net. Is this a dangerous virus or something that like cant be detected by norton (I'm buying it tomorrow), or will it be detected if I scan my comp.

I know this is noobish but I know nada when it comes to security.

Your HT log is clean, norton will protect you from aim viruses but you need to have aim version 4.7 or higher and you have to enable it in nortons option list.
 
I heard about that virus too, never got it or anything, made my mom not let my brother use AIM anymore though...dunno about getting it off, sorry
