Successfully Unlocked my x850PRO!!

By comparing specs side by side, the x850XT PE performs better in almost all areas. However the 7800GT is a newer card, and there are some games/test that are optimized for nVidia, so that card will win then.

And obviously my card would lose in 3DMark06, since this doesnt support SM3.

My card manufacturer is Sapphire.

Yep and games are moving towards SM3 pretty fast now.. Of course you can patch them to SM2 but then again you loose that pretty eyecandy

What are you talking about? There are no games that even produce more operations then SM2 can handle. Most new games only use about 12 operations, where as SM2 can support up to ~27. So as of now, there is no benefit to SM3 in games.

So are you saying that Oblivion looks same on X850 and 7800GT? Because if you are then you're wrong.. And what operations are you talking about? Oblivion uses PS 3.0 very much so.. Have you ever played Oblivion with PS 3.0 enabled? I am sure that everyone who has can tell that it looks a bit different with 3.0 than 2.0+

Theres more to physical appearence then just the fact of having SM3 over SM2. The 7xxx series has more advanced features that allow for better image quality over older cards, and the same goes with the x1K series, which has AVIVO.

Is SM 3.0 technology a huge visual advantage over 2.0? Nope, not even the slightest bit.

I say that it has better visual effects.. Try to play or see Oblivion with PS3.0 and 2.0+ and you'll see the difference..

Im not saying it's worthless, it will be more useful in newer games. I'm simply saying that as of now, just because a card doesnt have SM3/PS3, that it's going to perform poorly and/or look bad.
