Suddenly died aww :-(

I got a serious problem with my desktop this morning. Yesterday it still worked as good as it used to be. This morning I turned it on and I surprised of a strange sound like an explosion but not loud, just enough to make me surprised because I never heard a sound like that from my desktop except 'beep' or 'rrrrrrrr' because of dirty fan (shame on me!). Quickly I turned it off an turned it on again after some minutes. However, it completely died, no led light or any sounds. I tried to turn it on again after some hours and nothing happened. What happened to it? What can I do to check the possibility of parts that made the problem? Or I should just bury it and get a new one? Aww but I always curious and need to know before I replace it, maybe I still can use some peripherals, right? I am not rich and I love old stuff lol!

Thank you for your attention and your help.

i think your motherboard and cpu is unstable, when did you buy you lappy?
if you think it's that crap then just buy a new one, right now in australia we're having massive clearances on lappies

I agree that it sounds like the PSU died. If none of the LEDs on the mobo are on, it indicates it isnt receiving any power at all. The strange sound could have been a capacitor going...

By no LED's do you mean no flashy LED's attached to your computers?.. or no small green or red LED on your mobo. If the latter than yea its probably your PSU. If the LED on your mobo still turns on then its something else.

You also didn't really say whether you actually opened up your computer and looked inside to see if anything physically looked wrong. Might wanna try that if you haven't. Your processor could have exploded

Thank you for your reply, guys. I cannot sleep, cannot work, and also cannot find this thread *lol* but thank you for leaving the trace after moving this to the more proper place, so I don't need to sit at the corner while biting my fingers :D

Yes, it is a desktop, not the latest version, even I am growing with it (hah!) naaah, seriously, not that old.

No led lighted on (both green and red) when I switched on the desktop, and I cannot hear any sounds even the fans. Yes, then I opened the case and tried to switched on it again and ha! the fans didn't work. It means PSU problem eh? I also sniffed the inside area whether there was something burnt but my nose (which is very sensitive for smells) cannot detect anything.

I ever got somewhat similar 'explosion' for another desktop, it was a shorting on PS/2 (mouse) and mobo. I saw a white smoke and smelled a burning stuff but not this time.

Well, say that this time is PSU problem. If I try to change it, could you please give me any suggestions about which PSU I should get? Is it difficult to change PSU? I never do that before, only place/remove HDD, CD-ROM, memories, battery, cards, etc. peripherals but never did PSU. Thank you for your attention :D
