that motherboard is sweet, i wanted to get it too,

is that mean you are getting an ati video card(s)?
since it is ati chipset, i don't think you have to get that expensive motherboard though...

this motherboard is just as good as the one you wanted...
although your choice is a really nice overclocker... that means you want to get an opteron dual core cpu...
like opteron 165, 170, 175 would be really nice. (they are amazing overclocking cpus)

can easilly overclock to 3Ghz if you are willing to do it...

If you didn't know any better and chose that motherboard of yours,
you can save some money by getting a8r mvp motherboard... and
like the guy above said x2 4400

the overclocking reputation is overblown, and simply put opterons do not hold the price:perfomance position they used to, you recommendations are months out of date

The overclocking potential is awesome though. My Opteron 165 went from stock 1.8 to 2.4 on stock voltages and its currently at 2.7ghz. I'm using the Zalman CNPS9500 LED and temps pretty much never hit 40 celsius.

I have also read reviews of the Opteron 165 and 170, and most of them say that they overclock much better than just the X2's.

They are good overclockers, but are Opterons good for gaming? Aren't they for small servers or something like that?
