suggest configuration for my PC

Hi,
I want to buy an assembled PC and my budget is Rs25,000 (Max). So plz suggest the best configuration for my home needs.
I want
1. 17" monitor (flat if possible)
2. 512 MB DDR2 RAM
3. Intel Motherboard
4. 160 GB HDD
5. DVD writer
and other essentials..

which country are you come from?
Did you buy things online? Any online retailers in your home country?
Although you could give us your budget in US$ or GB£, the price for computer compenent can be vary a lot from country to country. (UK is almost 20% more expensive than US due to VAT)

$500? Really, I think you could build an Ok machine for that.

Ok, just checked. Arround US$568.
17 inch LCD Monitor apprx. $160
Windows XP Home/ Vista Basic $90
Budget Keyboard + Mouse + Speaker $15

So leave base unit for $300...
Decent PSU, e.g. XClio 450BL ATX 450W Power Supply, $38
Case $25 ??
WD HDD SATAII 160GB $53
DVD-writer $29

which leave $155 for RAM/ CPU/ MB (assuming onboard display)...

Any expert can help choosing???? I can't budget up an acceptable PC at this budget...

i know its newegg and hes in a diff country but gives him an idea and price range

To be honest, I will not suggest building a computer like this. I will suggest get an extra $70-80 more. Build at least AMD 64 x 2 and 1GB RAM, such that it at least run smoothly:rolleyes:
