First off, I'm sorry for making this thread, considering you guys probably get a ton of people posting basically the same exact thread, but any help you guys can provide for me is greatly appreciated.
So, I was out one day, and my sister decided to use my laptop. Usually wouldn't be too big of a deal except for the fact that she was eating Ramen. She then spilled it onto my computer and it broke. We brought it back to Geek Squad at Best Buy, and today they called my house saying that it was incapable of repair, and I would be able to exchange it for a different computer of the original cost. The computer I had was a Gateway, although I'm not sure the model, and it cost $400 back in '09. So, we have $400 towards it right off the bat, although I also have a couple of Best Buy gift cards and whatnot, and I'm planning to put some money towards it as well, which will make my price limit around $600.
I plan to use the computer for mainly just browsing the internet, and occasionally gaming. I do tend to go onto blogging websites with lots of pictures, so I would like to have something that can handle that without over heating (like my sister's laptop does, all to often). Also, a decent amount of memory would be nice because I have a ton of music (almost 10,000 songs) and a couple of thousand pictures, as well as a decent amount of movies. Also, I use a couple of music production programs, such as FL Studio, so I want to be able to record my music and whatnot without the computer freezing up on me. I don't really care all to much about battery life, because I'm always by an outlet.
Any suggestions as to what I can get in my price range that should be able to/can handle most/all the criteria I posted above?
