Suggestions for new mobo?

I'd like to get a new motherboard and processor as I recently picked up a GTX 280 and it's outperforming them way too much.
I'm planning on getting the Q6600, but not sure of what motherboard to purchase. I do plan on overclocking my CPU

My ideal price would be $120-$180 for the motherboard. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well I've basically been replacing things for the past few months until they outperformed my CPU and motherboard.

Here's my specs:
Motherboard: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+
Memory: 3582MB RAM
PSU: OCZ 850W
Video Card: NVidia GeForce GTX 280
Sound Card: Razer Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Audio Card

No that is a AMD cooler..also a Q6600 wont be cooled very well by the Intel version of that cooler either. It will run 9-10c hotter then the ones below. Also its a 92mm fan vs 120mm fan.

One major flaw with the A64 is if you have side fans that blow air in...it can actually slow the coolers fan due to no side protection...cause a whole wave of problems till I figured it out on my AMD PC.

If you want a good cooler look into the Xigmatek S1283 with retention bracket or the Tuniq Tower 120.

If you don't care about noise then get a 100-120CFM fan to pair up with those 2 fans to further increase cooling.

Personally I would wait...your just playing WoW right?
Wait 3-4 months and get the I7 instead. It will last longer and be faster then the Q6600 most games out atm wont even use more then 2 cores either.

I got my Q6600 for video editing and archiving....but I also game ^-^

There are two versions, I linked him with the Intel version. I think it's a great cooler. But if you want to spend more there are better ones. Like you mentioned. However I think alot of them become overkill.

Ah they changed price then...I bought my S1283 few months back and including the backplate for no-push pins it cost me 26 bucks after 10 dollar mail in rebate.

Then I had a 10 dollar credit so a 16 dollar cooler ^-^

Sadly its no longer the better deal on newegg but I own the Intel version of the Arctic Cooler and it was roughly 7-9c hotter then my S1283 at max load...idle it was 3c hotter. My room hits 85F during the summer so every C is important to me too.

3.2ghz @ 1.35v

Well I'm using the Antec 900, so I've never had a real problem with heat, nor do I like the fans that come with CPUs. So i opted to buy something a bit cheaper.

So do I...though I have not modded it yet...going to soon...need to buy a 8 pin extender and cut my PSU up a bit to get everything put in the correct spots.

Also need to buy a new piece of Plexiglas so I can lower my side fan down to my GPU level...Xigmatek blocks it by just a tad.

I forgot to add these temps are based off 800RPM idle and 1200 on load...I never checked temps @ 1500RPM. I could though if your wanting to buy it and want to know on the Xigmatek.
