Suggestions Needed

I know...another one of these threads by somebody who registered just to ask and will never come back. Which is true.

If anyone will be kind enough to help, thanks in advance.

Budget: $700-800 USD

Purpose: I plan on using the new system for browsing the internet, playing music, movies, Photoshopping, most likely 2 of these tasks simultaneously. Really the main reason I want to upgrade is to be able to play recent games and to be able to run the soon-to-be released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at max settings. I know the requirements haven't been released so I was really only looking for an approximation (hopefully some exact parts for now at least) on what I would need. CoD:MW2 would probably be the last game I would buy for PC and the rest would be games previously released that my new PC will already be able to handle without a hitch.

The computer I have now is seriously outdated (bought from BestBuy in 2004 and can hardly run PS CS3 and Firefox at the same time)

Any more info needed?

Not very experienced in the technical aspect. I could open my computer up and change parts etc., but actually knowing what I'm talking about...

Within your price range you can build a system that should run the new call of duty on max easily.

well if youve never built a pc from scrath, you could try. but if you dont feel up to it, i would just try to get a cheap hp or dell. most new prebuilts come with enough ram to run photoshop and firefox simultaneously LOLOL. but seriously. if you don't know/ want to dwell into how to make a sick nasty custom rig on the cheap, stick with your prebuilts.

Yeah that's one option, or you can find someone who knows computers and have them help you. I'm sure a friend, or family member could help. The problem with pre-builts are that after a certain amount of time you are stuck with the ability to not upgrade any further. In sight of the pre-built computers, I know that Best Buy has recently run a few i7's for around a grand that should run the newest call of duty and they actually have nice hardware.

like i said before, he can either take the time and effort to learn to make them himself, including assembling parts, installing windows, AND troubleshooting, then thats up to him.

or he can save his time and effort by simply paying for a lower cost prebuilt that will be upgradeable in the near future to fit his needs.

This should suit your needs. Best Buy also runs specials some times where you can get a monitor thrown in at that price. I'm not saying go out and buy this, but for a pre-built it is a nice pc. Something that you might wanna look into, that is all.

I think all he wants is someone to give him a parts list that will do what he wants and be compatible, not people telling him what he could be doing.

I know this post isnt helping but maybe it will get someone to actually help the guy. Im not suggesting parts cos there are people on here better at it then me.

Nice, however, he did state his computer knowledge is limited. So giving a parts list might not be the best choice right off the bat.

Thanks for the help so far guys. I'm not completely ignorant on the subject :D I'm willing to do research and whatnot, and actually knowing why one component is better than it's counterpart, things like that.

I am in fact looking for a parts list, and am willing to build a new system.

Does a monitor need to be included in this price or is this just what you want to spend on the stack?

I have a 19" Viewsonic that came with my PC and I will upgrade a couple weeks after completing the build, so it isn't included in the $700-800.

ill be able to help make you a build either later today or tomorrow. sorry about the misunderstanding.

It's cool, I appreciate you as well as others taking their time to help me without expecting anything in return. I would def. stay around and pay it forward if I knew enough.
