This summer i'm going to try build my first pc with a custom case completely = build case etc. I built normal pcs in the past but bought the equipment.

Since i'm doing a cheap one I need to know if these are good:

Motherboard = Asus m2v-mxse am2 via k8m890 micro ATX
CPU= Amd athlon 64x2 4600+ AM2
Ram= Team Xtreem 1gb = 2x 512mb 240pin sdram ddr2 800
PSU =
1. Star usa 20pin - 24 pin converter = PSU is 20 + 4 pin and the mobo is just 24pin
2. Antec earthwatts ea430 v2.0 430watts psu

Fans and heatsinks=
Logisys 80mm x2
Maybe a cpu cooler if it doesnt come with the cpu
Some thermal paste

DVD drive =
asus black 16x dvd-rom 48 cd-rom sata model dvd- e616 A3T

HDD=
WD wd1200aajs 120gb 7200rpm 8mb cache sata 3.00gb/s

These specs took along time as the mobo had to have compabibility

= 172 euros (converted the dollars to euros). I'm going to price around abit and check ebay and see if they have 100% feedback people who are selling it abit cheaper.;)

I'll tell ya the case plans later on:cool:

You don't need the motherboard adaptor, 20+4 pin simply means you can unclip the last 4 pins to make a 20-pin motherboard fit with it correctly. Most PSU's are 20+4 pin now.

o.o how do you do that. Just pull em out:D

Since i could only buy from ebay I decided to go intel so

1. ASUS P5LD2 SE Rev 1.00 S775 Motherboard
2. intel core 2 duo e4400

You'll probably need to find a way to flash the BIOS of that motherboard, I doubt it'll support the E4400 right off the bat if at all. You just unclip the pins on a PSU.

it says
Intel Pentium 4, Intel Celeron D, Intel Pentium D, Intel Core2 Duo, Intel Core2 Extreme, Intel Pentium Extreme Edition

sorry for double post but i decided to get:

MSI 945GC M5-F 945GC,SOCKET-775,DDR2,1333FSB M-ATK,LAN,VGA,PCI-EX16
Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 1.8GHz
OCZ DDR2 PC6400 1gb kit
NorthQ 4775-400bulk atx400watt 120mm fan
x2 akasa crystal red 80mm - Goes on Two sides
x1 akasa 4-red led 120mm 4x - Sits on top of case
Pioneer DVD+RW burner 20x
Samsung Spinpoint 5166 160GB 8 MB 7200 RPM

= 258 Euros? Is it good:)
