Is the operating system "Solaris" Linux based?

i don't think so, i always thought it was just sun's own, but it could be, i don't really know too much about it

Unix based. MUCH harder than Linux(which is being a real pain for me now, too) But thanks for reminding me. I think I'll get my Sun system out tonight and play on it

I actually have taking a great liking to Solaris. I think it's a wonder operating environment. However, I work with W2K3 servers all day long so I often like to drift off to “unixville” when I get home if you know what I mean .
