Suspected SSD troubles

My PC had been working great for the past 3 months, and earlier I just booted into Windows and after a couple of seconds, everything froze. I resetted and tried again but the exacly the same thing happened.

Now BIOS doesn't recognize my SSD (ocz agility 3) This is also my second in 4 months, I had to RMA my first one too.

Is there anything else that could cause this or is the SSD the problem ?
 
Overclocking your computer can do this. Remove any overclocks.

Reset CMOS and enter and restore default settings. Restart.

Enter BIOS again and navigate through the menus and ensure they're all set correctly.
 
Just started my computer again and BIOS recognized my SSD fine. Loaded up normal. It had slight hiccups, a couple of nervy seconds of freezing. But it's been 10 minutes now and I'm on it fine!

What could this mean ? I think it might be that the SSD is slowly dying.
 
Had the same problem with my SSD too with the BIOS not detecting it. Just reset it and disabled any SATA controllers which I was not using and all was fine again. Check your boot orders too.

Try updating your BIOS if you haven't already. I notice you're using the UD5H. Some early revisions of that BIOS had problems, so updating it may help.

It's more likely BIOS related than SSD-related.
 
BIOS is upgraded to the latest version.

I doubt it's a BIOS problem as Windows acted all weird. It froze and restarted, I left it when it froze so I might have got a BSOD I'm not sure.It has never froze on me or anything before. The freezing appears to only happening on start up if I attempt to open to many programs at once straight after start up. It seems fine after a couple of minutes.
 
Tried resetting your BIOS back to defaults?

It's possible the BIOS could be causing the problems and making Windows act weirdly, but you're right it could be the SSD too.

Don't suppose you can back your system up, then put the SSD in another PC and install Windows onto it and see if it plays up on another computer too?
 
It would be a real nuisance for me to test the SSD in another PC, so until it stops working all together I don't really want to bother.

I don't believe I have manually changed any setting in BIOS but I have reset it to default settings.

Having tried again, the problem definitely is during the first minute after start up. It froze yet again today, after resetting I stumbled upon this message

I accidently pressed the enter key so the test didn't go on.
 
Also discovered, if I left windows sit idle after start up, there is no freezing. It only appears to freeze if I try to open things
 
I think you may have a faulty install, or possibly something wrong software-wise. Tried reinstalling Windows?
 
After the same thing happened again just now, I let the system on and it came to a BSOD for a second before restarting. Every time the system restarts after freezing, the BIOS fails to recognize the SSD. I always have to clear CMOS.
