Svchost at it again

This laptop is for my daughter, I put in a new hard drive and reinstalled a bare windows 7. Upon completion its been slow ever since due to svchost.

Second windows boots up, it runs great for maybe 4 mins, then the process and services associated start is dies. It will run 100% you and 91% memory usage and never change. I have yet to get anything done for the kid cause it locks up due to this service. Even let it sit on table for 24 hours and still at 100% cpu, and windows update just sits at checking for updates during those 24hours.

Any idea why this process does this and do you see something I don't in the services I could stop.

You're better off using something like Process Monitor to see what child entities are relying on that parent svchost process.

How much RAM does that computer have? I see it sitting at 90% utilization from your screenshot.

That's something I don't miss from Win 7 now that I've moved all of my systems to Win 10, dealing with svchost issues. Only permanent solution I ever found was to disable windows update.
