How many scvhost.exe files should be running in the task manager processes on xp? be cause i started a month ago there was two, last week there was three and today there are four in the task manager... is this normal or are they potetial viruses? Norton says nothing so i think its okay?

-o well where at it what is the best antivirus prgram because norton takes alot of memory.

scvhost is the devil, but it is a legitimate process (unfortunately). Heres the MS write up http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314056 the number that should run varies based on what you have installed. I use AVG Free right now, I had trend micro for a while before that I had norton, pc-cillin was a lot faster than norton.
