Swap out 3800 's?

Heat isnt whats stopping my current processor from going any further.

I cant get past 2.69 with the maxiumum voltage my motherboard allows.

Although i would like to lapp my stuff - is there a guide anywhere ive seens kits on ebay for cheap :)

Hmmmm im all for lapping my heatsink but unsure on the cpu. If i just lapped the heatsink would i see any improvement bearing in mind zalmans are quite smooth allready :)

Im just hoping i dont bend any pins holding it or get any nickel or copper on the pins or the surface.

Also, how many degrees you think it would lower if i lapped my cpu and heatsink and did this mod to my zalman with a high cfm fan

Im not getting overheating troubles at all

Id just like it to be even cooler.

And im not looking to upgrade anything for a long time yet so i dont need to wait for anything, i was just wondering about swapping out my processor at very little cost

did you swap the fan on the zalman? looks a little bit big for it and it should be inside the fins.

a good lap will lower 10c.

you can add another fan on the other side and have each suck air from the heatsink that's what i'm doing with the TUE.

I was planning on adding the fan but there isnt enough room because my memory would be in the way but i think ill add an 80 mm fan on the other end of the zalman and she what that does,

Isnt there a big risk in lapping a cpu with getting any of the metal inside the processor or on the pins or in between the pins?
