Swapping cpu cooler fans?

I'm currently overclocking my cpu. I was wondering if it's possible to switch a 120mm blue LED case fan with the cpu heatsink fan. The case fan moves more air and can keep my cpu colder than the stock heatsink fan.

If the fans are both 120mm and you can find a safe way to mount it then it is possible yes. I did it with an old cooler of mine a long time ago. Its only really worth it if you are making a big jump in CFM (airflow).

According to Newegg that fan has a 54.4 CFM rating. Check the rating on your case fan and if it is significant ( + 10+) then go for it. Don't expect a huge performance increase though. Though this will technically help if you are having overheating problems you should probably be in the market for a new cooler.

As you can see, at the highest speed it moves 79cfm of air, which is about 25 more cfm than the stock fan. XD

I've only had this cooler for about 4 months and it's a good one, I just posted this thread to gain knowledge. Thanks for the reply.
