Swapping CPUs

I have a Athlon XP 2400+ right now, and I upgraded to the 3200+. I know how to pop out the 2400+, so is that all i do, just replace cpus and then just boot up?

Or is there more to it than that? Thanks.

Yup that's all you have to do. Make sure before you take out your CPU that you touch something metal to ground yourself. If this is not done you could shock your CPU and destroy it. Also make sure all the pins are lined up before you tighten the CPU into its resting place.

you'll need to reseat the heatsink :)
and maybe put on some new thermal grease

Make sure the windows you have is a retail version. OEM windows will lockup if you change the mobo or the cpu.
