Swapping Data PC to PC

As long as both computers have a firewire port you can network them together through that. Just buy a cable. It's the same as using CAT5, just a lot faster.

Firewire ports... how about a USB2.0 Port? My new PC already has like 10 of them. haha I was planning on buying one for his too. Can I buy a wire to connect them too?

And if there is... I just plug the wire into both PCs... then I should be able to network them? Just go into the old PC and copy files?

Why not just be a IDE to SATA adapter for $2? That would make things easier. Do you use SATA on your new MOBO?

Well... I have a Netgear Wireless Modem and PCI Card (For old PC). What else would I need to transfer these files?
The old PC would just need an RJ45 network jack. Most reasonably modern mobos include one. Your new one (P5B Deluxe, I assume, since there's no A5B :)), does.

The 2nd option can't really happen because I have no IDE connections for a harddrive in my new PC. I think... haha
Yes, you do:). If they're both in use, just unplug your DVD drive temporarily.

The older Mobo is an Asus nf7-s v2... no idea what a RJ45 Jack is. haha

Oh my god dude... I never noticed it was wrong!! haha I have no idea why I put that either! I don't drink or smoke... so hrm? haha oops

So I'm probably just going to d/c the DVD drive tomorrow and install it into my new computer for a swappage. See how that be.

It's still weird though because this is an issue solely cuz my freakin DVD ROM won't freakin copy the files off my DVD-R fast enough... 238 minutes for a DVD-R. That's insane!

RJ45 is a Ethernet port. Just like dial-up has a port for the phone cable, RJ45 is the port for the wire that goes into it to get DSL or comcast.
