Hey guys!
Okay, first off, I'm gonna lay some stuff down. My first personal build is my Phenom II build I'm on right now. The specs are:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE 3.6GHz
Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P Motherboard
Xigmatek Dark Knight
G.Skill DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) 4GB (2x2) Memory
BFG Tech 9800GT 1GB
WD 1TB Caviar Black
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W
Raidmax Aztec (modded)
Now, I live at two houses, so I want to have that build at my dad's and I want a new, high-performance one to be at my mom's. Here's what I'm planning:
Intel i7-920
FoxConn BloodRage GTI
G.Skill RipJaws DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)
Some sort of 4890, I will explain in a bit.
WD 500GB Caviar Black x2
PC Power and Cooling 750W Silencer
Coolermaster HAF 932
For cooling, I'm gonna make my first water-cooling loop:
Trying to decide between Swiftech Apogee GTZ or XT
XSPC RX360 Radiator
XSPC Acrylic Reservoir
Swiftech MCP 355 12v DC Pump
Primoflex UV Red Tubing 1/2 ID 3/4 OD
I just want to say that this 'high-performance' build will be my last personal build for a looooooong time. I plan to upgrade it and the Phenom Build regularly with new parts when they become obsolete.
Planned Upgrades:
Phenom Build:
BFG Tech 9800GT --> GTX 250 or 260 with the 9800GT as PhysX
G.Skill 4GB --> More memory
1TB Hard Drive --> 32GB SSD Boot Drive + 1TB Storage
i7 Build:
4890 --> x2 4890 in CFX
500x2GB RAID 0 --> 32GB SSD Boot Drive + 500x2GB RAID1 (is that the right # for mirored?)
GPU Loop
NB Loop
Now, obviously, my HAF 932 build will be red/black themed, so I'm looking for a 4890 that's red and/or black. I was looking at the ASUS EAH4890 dual fan, but now it's deactivated? Also, this build won't be completed any time soon, because I'll get the job to get the money in February (3rd to be exact (16 y.o.)).
If anyone has any suggestions for part swapping, that'd be great, I have no problem with swapping for performance because the prices will go down when I do get the money for the build.
Also, if I were to add more loops for other components, would I need the whole shi-bang again, (rad, tubing, res, pump), or are there certain parts that can stay for multiple loops? To be clear, I was thinking of a dual-rad on the side door for GPU(s) and a single-rad on the rear for NB.
That's all folks!
PS: Credit to bomberboysk for helping me find these parts... I'm okay at finding a general structure for the computer, but he finds the best deals on specific brands, etc...
