in the past if i switch the motherboard then i need to reinstall windows. Although i installed a new video card, cpu, ram, and psu all at once withouthaving to reinstall windows.

It's a 99% chance it would work, you would have to have a similar mobo, i.e same chipset, same everything

i think ts mainly the motherboard that need you to reformat the computer
