Switching off spyware

How do I turn off my spyware, I read that spyware can interfere with some microsoft updates being installed, and I have had this problem with some updates.

Have you got spyware? Or do you mean Anti-spyware? And if so, what program?

Spyware Blaster; Cyber Defender 2.0; AOL Spyware Protector; Lavasoft Ad-Aware and Spyware Terminator.
