Hi,
Looking for some help. It was determined by best buy that my motherboard and power supply were bad so I picked up some replacements today. I went from the corsair 550 to a corsair 600 watt. My motherboard was an Asus PK5pl VM. My new board is a Gigabyte S-series GA-G41M-ES2L. I believed I had about everything hooked up correctly and when I powered it up there is a green and red light showing on the chassis and a loud continuous beep, no boot up either. Can anyone suggest what I have wrong? I switched the processor from the ASUS board to the Gigabyte.
Some other issues I am having are pin related. I have a set of pins labeled Spkout R, Spkout L, Mic-BIAS, Return R, Return L, Mic in, and Grnd. My manual shows two set ups for front panel audio (am I correct I need these plugged in for my HD on board sound?). I hope the pic is big enough to see, had to shrink it to make it fit forum specs.
On the front side header I also see one spot for a IDE H.D. LED (2pins + & -) however I have two plugs coming from my chassis labeled H.D. LED each with 2 pins. Do I need this or both? I have one Sata hard drive and one IDE hard drive. My LCD has never really worked on my chassis however the front led lights are nice.
And finally I have some pins TPB +-, TPA +-, 2 GRNDs, and a VCC. I believe this is for firewire and I will not be using but want to make sure. Thanks for any help been working on it for about 5 hours now. Getting it to boot up and getting the sound going are my main concerns.
