System backup

I just got a toshiba laptop over tax free weekend and it didn't come with a back up disk. I asked the salesman at best buy and he said I would have to do it myself. How do i go though this process of making a backup disk? thanx

Well I dunno how to make a back up of the entire windows OS but.

If you got a windows disc or have a friend that will let you borrow it you only need to make a back up of your driver folders. A program like http://sourceforge.net/projects/drvback/

Thats if you do formats though.

Tell those idiots at Best Buy that they can't sell you a PC without the disc and you demand it. When I worked @ Best Buy they told me that they have to give it if asked but they don't have to tell you about it.

If you are using Windows Vista take a look at the backup features but I think you will be restricted without the original discs - I'm assuming when you said backup discs you mean the restore discs?

I'd chase Best Buy to get the original restore discs.
