system failure voice?

Just a few minutes ago, my dad attempted to boot his pc and all of a sudden instead of booting a female BRITISH voice began repeating something like, system failure... something after that, I recorded it (not very good quality, done with a mp3 player). It was nothing less than eerie. Anyone know what it was?

Was this when you were in Windows, or when it was in POST?

it hadn't booted up yet. it it din't even start booting up. It didn't get a chance to go through anything.
The monitor didn't recieve any signal either.

uh...is your computer a prebuilt one or did you build it yourself?

my dad had his computer custom built by his... friend. but, since then we've totally exchanged the motherboard... well it got gutted so there's nothing original, not even the harddrives.
The computer works fine, but that was just odd and unexpected. Why would you get a voice from the speakers repeating that over and over again until he pressed the power button?

Was the mobo asus? I remember hearing that some mobo will tell you if there is a problem. That may be it.
