System good enough to game?

Is this system good enough to use for gaming?
For games such as Call of duty or Left for dead..
Or smaller games?


Model: HP P6500 desktop PC
Athlon II X4 635 processor
4GB DDR3 RAM
1TB hard drive
HD 5450 1GB graphics
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

That should work great for left 4 dead and games like that. But when you get into bigger more GPU intensive games like crysis and such, its not gonna do so great with that GPU.

How much are you paying for that system? Games such as GTA IV are quite graphically intense and would not run well at all on that system, as it has quite a poor graphics card.
 
Buying a gaming PC from OEMs such as HP and Dell is always a bad idea. They may put a generally fast CPU in, but they ALWAYS skimp out on the video card and power supply. To get a good video card and decent power supply to replace those parts will cost you around $150, most likely.

EDIT: That's also a rip-off anyway.

Is there any chance of you building a PC? You could save a lot of money that way. Even if you don't want to build your own, I highly advise against buying the PC you listed. It just isn't worth the money.
 
I dont really have the money for it..
as with this way, I'm paying £8 a week for a year (which i can afford okay)
What else would need upgrading in the system tho?
Harddrive is good, ram is good and cpu is good (i think cpu is good)
Just graphics could do upgrading

Graphics and power supply for sure, as the OEMS use pretty cheap power supplies.

Although, if you just put the money you would be paying into a savings account or such, you could get yourself a nicer computer even if you did have to wait longer to get it.

You don't even have to do that. If you built a computer (with parts from newegg.com) you could use their "bill me later" option.

EDIT: I guess at that point it's kinda worth it. If you already bought it then it's still okay. As long as you plan to upgrade the video card and power supply.
 
yeah i've allready orderd it, Should be here wednesday.
And i will be upgrading the graphics card and power supply in a few months
