A few days ago I was watching the PC updating and everything was fine before the last update.
Now, all I get on the screen is an error message telling me to run chkdsk /F check for hard drive corruption.
I have tried to the limits of my brain to fiqure it out.
I have swapped HDs and even install a 3.5 disk to get the A: up but I still cannot get to the original HD.
The replacement HD came from a sister DELL Precision 390 PC. I picked up two matching system with same every thing installed, memory, HD size XP pro install.
BUT even with the matching HD the only prompt I get at startup is the same error message.
Problem has been detected and windows has been shut down.
Run CHKDSK /F
Even with the replacment HD the same error message appears.
Mainly what I want to save is the Legal Windows XP professional program. Neither system came with CDs or DVDs.
