System Locking Up for No Reason. Any Ideas?

This started for no apparent reason that I can think of a few days ago. I am getting black or gray screen crashes. The screen will just turn gray or black and my system will not respond to anything. Control + Alt + Delete does nothing. I end up having to push the reset or power button and reboot to get my system to work again. It happens every now and again while running any variety of programs. Probably once every few hours. I looked in my Event Viewer and I find no error codes except improper shutdowns obviously caused by pushing the reset or power button. Any Ideas?

I think I have run my anti virus software and it is still happening. I have Spybot and Ad Aware.

Did you re-install your Operating System, Drivers? Try disabling your Anti-Virus and see if it still does it. Is it when you leave it for a few hours?

I just remembered when these errors started on my system. A video game was running and froze up. I ended up just pushing the power or reset button and then check disk utility stated it found an error on my primary hard drive that my operating system was loaded on. After that, the system lock ups started happening. Check disk attempted to fix the hard drive error, but was unsuccessful.

To attempt to fix this problem I reformatted the whole hard drive, and did a clean install of Windows Vista. So far it seems to be working. I will report later if this didn't fix my problem.

Well, apparently my hard drive is not the problem. I am occasionally getting black or gray screen crashes again. The screen will just turn gray or black and my system will not respond to anything. I found these error codes in my Event Viewer:

This looks like a problem is pointing to my onboard video card. Now the question is whether or not I just ignore this problem for now and buy a new video card (I was planning on doing this anyway) or send the motherboard in for warranty replacement. Any opinions?
