System Recovery Discs for Compaq Computers

I got two Compaq desktop computers of Models No. PRES 3800 P4/1.9 TAI and PRES 3800 P4 1.8/CR HK. I lost their recovery discs due to removal. I called the local supporting centre and they said that these models were obsolete ( I bought in 2003 although they are still working very well) and they were unable to provide me with the necessary discs. I understand that only discs of typical model can function. Is there anyone who has computers of the same models and can help to give me copies of these Recovery Discs.
please contact me at [email protected]

Do they have the original hard drives in them?

If so, they have a recovery partition on them.

Press "F10" to enter recovery.

The hard discs have partitions "D" inside which certain programs likely for system recovery are installed. However, pressing of F10 only lead me to System setup. I was told by the local supporting centre that my models were obsolete and I could not even find information regarding my models through their offical website. The only way seems to seeking for the recovery discs of the typical models.

Extremely unlikely anyone around here is going to have a 6 year old brand name computer. After 6 years you should really be upgrading. You can buy a new system with another copy of windows and then hook the old hard drive up to the new system and copy your important stuff over to the new computer.

It doesn't say "Press F_ to enter recovery"?

System Setup means what, the BIOS?

Hi Bodaggit23
I did as the Official website instructed. I pressed F10 when starting the machine but It led me to Bios where I can only reconfig my system. Unlike what the Supporting Centre said, there would be something for system recovery or Recovery disc Creator. So it seems that the only way is to look for the original recovery discs come with the machines .

I know that some of the manufacturers are using the D: partition as a "Recovery Install"....some, such as Dell, do not even publicly announce that their F_ option exists. Try Googling your models to see if they have a recovery option such as this or press each of the F_ keys one by one upon boot and see what happens...you never know.

The best thing to do would be to reinstall the OS from a actual OEM CD. If you don't want to pay for a license of Windows, give Linux a try.

Did you bother to read the thread? No.

Anyway, I have a set of Recovery discs from my old Compaq Presario S4020WM but
I don't recognize the numbers you listed, so I don't know if they're the same.

Pretty sure they're different because mine had an AMD cpu.
