Hello. i used to have 3gb of ram and on start up it would display system resources consuming 128mb of memory and now i installed a 4th stick of ram it says i have 2.87 gb of ram and system resources is consuming 11xxmb of ram! I am running x64 bit windows xp on an emt64 capable motherboard. Intel desktop board d915gev. If i enable the built in video card on the motherboard in bios system resources will consume like 1500 mbs of ram lol . So is there any stuff i can disable so system resources wont consume as much memory? Should i even worry about it? do i still actually have 4gb of ram to use or did it limit me to the 2.9? thanks for any input! Oh ya it reads all 4 1gb sticks. thanks!

No i have a seperate video card its an ATI Radeon x800 series 256MB . What tab of windows task manager do you want to see?

it depends on how many programs youre running. i have 64 bit window 7, running aim, firefox, and winamp, and im using over 1.5 gigs of ram.
