System Restore, files missing? Is that normal?

So I recently did a system restore on Windows 7 today because I was having problem with a driver. The system restore fixed the driver problem but I noticed that the games I had downloaded earlier this morning were missing after the System restore yet the icons were still showing up on my desktop. When I tried to run it (Uplay) it showed me I had to install the games again.

The system restore was set to about 12 hours before I had installed these games.

My question is are those files for the games installed somewhere on my HDD like %Appdata% Folder or are they hidden? I am curious if they are taking up space and if I am somehow installing the games 2 times.

Not sure how system restore works, seems like weird magic to me lol.

Can you right click on the game icon and find path and see if there is anything there? If not, you're gonna have to reinstall them.

System restore will remove any apps installed that was done after the restore point. You will need to reinstall them.
