System Restore Help?

I couldnt find any where else to put this thread but i need some help...

ya so i have this external hard drive lying around so i want to put all my progs on there.. and restore my system

Now when i put those progs. from the external harddrive will it still have the keys or the serials still in the program or w/e or will i have to find them the codes again....

Sometimes the keys and serials are stored in the program but most of the time they are stored in the registry. To back that up simple go Start-->Run-->Regedit-->File-->Export-->make sure it has ALL selected and not a specific section. Then just save the .reg where you want to save it and you'll have it for later use if you ever want to re-import it.

Indeed, System Restore is really friggen flakey when it comes to uh ... restoring I guess thats what you get for a user-friendly rip off of Ghost (even tho ghost is silly easy to use)
