I've been experiencing quite a few problems with my computer so i decided to do a system restore. The only problem is that no mater which restore point i use, it always comes back as "Incomplete Retore". What gives?
Thanks, Daniel

i got it.... i had to a system restore in safe mode..... which ofcourse fixed all of my problems. some of the problems i was having were...
-when i hit the spell check on outlook express, it would bring up an install for "picture it"
- my ftp site wouldn't come up in explorer 7

It sounds like "Picture it" is some preloaded crap that most computers tend to come with today. Have you tried to complete the setup? How old is the system?

As for FTP, Internet Explorer is pretty sorry when it comes to the FTP browser. Have you tried some other software? Filezilla is quite good, free too.

*edit* I mis read part of it and was thinking this was a new system at first...

The thing you could so there is to turn off the system restore in order to delete the current restore points that may have been corrupted somehow and start off fresh. Windows had to have some type of glitch to require a safe mode boot in order to use it?!

Speaking of preloaded "crap" just imagine what a brand new eMachines model comes with. sums it up! When an old friend showed with that new I said why didn't you wait before rushing into it? The old HP 98 had some "problems"? She could no longer get online. An upgrade to XP or a newer model HP or Dell would have been far better. But......

my computer isn't too old... i bought it 2 years ago... although i'm sure it was outdated before i bought it. i think NIS 2007 was somehow jamming up my system restore. as for trying to complete the picture it setup... i did try. it said it was missing a file (PI9.MSI) which i could not find anywhere on my computer so i downloaded it from microsoft. after that it said it wasn't the right file... that's when i started looking into alternative ways to do a system restore.

Anything you could buy in 2005 would be outdated now! When you buy anything that has been out for any lengthy period of time the newest always seems to come out right afterwards. :(

You will most likely have to totally uninstall the app itself and either reinstall it fresh or take The_Other_One's advice and look for something better. One thing that has helped out with XP's system restore feature is a program that allows you to create far more fresh restore points when you want to.

A program called Setpoint by Easydesk Software covers what XP is too slow for. Every few months you can try out the shareware version of it at http://www.easydesksoftware.com/spoint.htm Now that I have the full version I find that I hardly ever use a restore point. That's irony for you! :P
