System Restore

Are you getting this issue on startup? It could be a HDD or RAM issue, so I'd test those two components first before doing anything else.

It might or might not. Normally it restores previous system file versions, so it would be worth a try. Could also try running a chkdsk.

Thanks for your help. This computer hasn't been used in a few years so I was doing lots of updates and then it came up with this at start up. I'll take your advice and do some checks. Rick

Solution 1:

Load Linux Ubuntu operating system and navigate to:

"C:\WINDOWS\repair"

Locate the file called "system" and copy it on the following path location:

"C:\WINDOWS\system32\config"

NOTE: "C:" is the drive (partition) letter on which you need to fix this problem. In your case it may or may not be "C:".It can also be "D:","E:","F:" and so on so pay attention on that...

Solution 2:

Repair your operating system using it's CD or DVD-ROM disk...

Cheers who ever you are :D !!!
