t1 isp

Hey guys. I'm using Cox High Speed Internet 15mb downstream 5mb upstream. I wanted to upgrade to a T1 internet. And I have a few questions.

Is T1 mainly for uploading such as running a server or downloading such as playing an online game?

What are some good T1 isp's?

Your upload speeds and download speeds already exceed T1 speeds. However, there are certain advantages to T1, but imo they're not worth the price over standard internet.
 
Really? 15 Down and 5 Up? I thought T1 was like 50 Down. hehe..

Maybe I was thinking about T3? don't know..

What is good about T1?
 
T1 is about 1.5Mbps up and down. Have a search around in the internet section for a thread about T1. It says in there the advatages....though there isn't many.
 
Okay..I guess I was wrong..Lol, lots of people said T1 was so awesome..so I wanted to find out more about it.

As elmarco said, your current speed is already greater then T1, however T1 has more "badwidth" as you say.

Are you sure you got those speeds right? 5Mbps up seems pretty high for cable.
 
Good read. Thanks. I think I understand now. So the main point here is
Cable-you share a bandwidth with people near you so if your neighbors download big things all the time, my internet gets slower.

T1-you have your own bandwidth so it doesn't matter what other people are doing, you just use it yourself.

Am I getting this right?
