Tablet to boot windows

Hello everyone, I've just got a new computer with a bad Windows disk, I can't get another copy sorted until tomorrow. I'm just wondering if I can download the Windows files on to my tablet and use that as a usb drive to install Windows. Excuse my terminology, I am evidently not good with this=)

What operating system were you going to install? Did they give you an activation key?

Windows 7 and yes I have an activation key.

Then go here and download the iso and burn it to cd. Enter your activation key so it will let you download it.

I can't as I don't have a CD or means to burn one, no other computer, I can use a friend's tomorrow. Just read you can also install Windows from a usb, and as I don't have one of those either I thought I might be able to use a tablet. I think ill just have to wait, again I appreciate you answering on Xmas day.

You can use the windows USB dvd tool to install the iso onto a flash drive. You don't need to use CD's in this day and age.

Or you can use Rufus (free!) to create a bootable USB disk of the ISO image. That's always worked well for me - on tablets too!

Hello, ok so I have worked out a device I can use as a usb, however when I put my product key in to get Windows 7 it says, ... error, the product key you've entered appears to be for software which was pre installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options

Just a thought but I have a product key, is that the activation key?

Is it a 25 digit key? If so then yes that's the activation key.

Ok I've downloaded the file to my phone, but now can't work out how to get the computer to boot from the phone, nightmare

No, it can't be done off a tablet. Either a usb flash drive or a dvd.
