Tablets vs smartphones: apps

Is it harder to run apps on tablets than smartphones? Reason why I'm asking is I've been seeing user comments such as "This app isn't working on my tablet" from the Android market.

No, it's just that the apps weren't made for the resolution and screen size of a tablet. And it has to do with the device, I see plenty of people saying this app won't work with my [insert device name here].

Some have some trouble on both, not one vs. the other. Like said above it depends on the hardware. No more different then why does this program run better on this computer vs, another one. Pretty much a open end never ending question. If you have a certain model Phone and tablet and a app works on one but not the other, it would be a good qestion. But asking just in general has no point.

It just depends on the resolution and hardware. Example being Nova 3 ran on my Asus TF300 flawlessly with the tegra 3 but on my Galaxy S3 it lags like crazy. I know some games have been optimized for certain hardware like Nvidia chips.

Some apps have a separate version for tablet and smartphone, but even as a huge android fan I have to admit it in particular has compatibility problems, we have numerous android devices and although the majority of apps work fine on all of them, there are a few that only work on a couple.

2 of the most problematic apps for compatibility are, sky go & 3dmark

With Google now having a separate section for tablets, it should be getting better here on out.

The biggest difference is that the tablet have bigger in size than smart phones. Phones are easy to carry but with tablet we face some problem during any journey.

If we strictly "carried" this logic to laptops, they'd be tougher yet to carry around, yet they're all around (handles help of course, still). Tablets do have certain advantages (larger display, certain games are easier to play on them than smartphones, easier to type on than smartphones, etc.)
